Synopsis

Jacquou is a 9 year-old peasant boy living in Southwest France in 1815.
Through the fault of the cruel Count of Nansac, he becomes a penniless orphan and has to steal to stay alive. Vowing to get his revenge, Jacquou steadily rebuilds himself. Within a few years, helped by some loyal friends and a radiant young girl, he has grown into a purposeful, dashing young man. He learns to convert his thirst for revenge into a fight against injustice.
