Synopsis

It took former longshoreman François Cardinaud 30 years to make it big in La Rochelle. He learned the ropes in the rough-and-tumble, dog-eat-dog world of the waterfront. His reputation as a cunning, hard-boiled tough guy is well earned. Returning home from mass one Sunday, he finds that his wife, Marthe, is gone.
