Synopsis

A village in the region of Poitou, in summer. Annie, 16, is in love with Frédéric. He is leaving for the army. Annie allows Alexandre, an awkward twenty-year-old, to seduce her and, when Frédéric comes back on leave, he makes friends with his rival and entrusts Annie to him for the duration. The next day, Annie tells her mother how she lost her virginity in the arms of Alexandre - laughter.
