Synopsis

Colonel Baron de Pontcarral is loyal to the Emperor, bitterly opposed to the Bourbons, and lives in the region of Dordogne. He meets the bright Sybille de Ransac and her prideful sister, Garlone. Garlone, who has been let down by her lover Rozans, offers to marry Pontcarral. When, after the wedding, Pontcarral finds out about Rozans, he goes looking for him and kills him.
